Pastor Appreciation
Though all Christians are called to serve the cause of Christ, God calls certain persons to serve the Church as pastors and other ministers. In 1st Timothy 3:1 it says,

This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. “
John Newton, famous for writing "Amazing Grace," once remarked that "None but He who made the world can make a Minister of the Gospel."
It takes a person called by God to be a pastor or minister. It’s not just anyone’s job and not just anyone can do it.
Romans 10:15 asks how can he preach unless he is sent? A pastor is a God send; a gift to the church. He is the conduit through which God has chosen to teach us. Of course the Holy Ghost teaches us, but our pastor is our beacon. He is like a lighthouse that stands on the shores of the rocky sea cliffs warning us about the dangers that lurk in the horizon or on the doorstep.
Pastor translated in Greek means “Sheppard”.
1 Timothy 5: 17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.
──It says, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.
Hebrews 13:17 says this: Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
It is our job to make sure he can do his. If we constantly give him grief, we are hindering what God would do in our church and our lives.
If you trust your pastor, and you know he does his best to lead and guide you and your family, show him your appreciation. Not just this October, but all year long.
